Character’s Fandom: Tales of the Abyss

Character’s Personality: Pouring on the charm is the sort of thing Anise does best. ♥ How else is she supposed to find a rich, handsome husband? This isn't to say she doesn't wear her heart on her sleeve, however. Anise is brash, excitable and not at all like a normal 13-year old girl.
She's quick to take her temper out on anyone who happens to draw it, especially if someone insults Ion. She has no fear of violence, and rather relishes being able to beat down her enemies.
She does enjoy cute things (although her definition of cute can easily turn towards scary for other people), and is kind to those she cares about. She can also be snide and sarcastic to those she cares about, but it's all good natured. ♥

Character’s Background: Anise's parents are really-really trusting. REALLY-REALLY TRUSTING. They become victims to scams easily, with expensive results. Because of this, they've become completely indebted to Grand Maestro Mohs and the church of Yulia. All this taken into consideration, it's really no huge shock that Anise and her parents work as servants of the church. This life of poverty has made Anise hugely greedy, though a good deal of that greed is a desire to help her parents out of their debt.
Anise works as a Fon Master Guardian, an elite body guard for the religious head, Fon Master Ion. Despite being only 13, she is an able Puppetmaster, fighting from the back of her beloved doll, Tokunaga.
Although she was not aware of it at the time, she was made a Fon Master guard in order to cover up the death, replication and replacement of the original Ion. Nonetheless, Anise and Ion became friends. The Fon Master Guardian of the original Ion, Arietta, finds herself displaced and begins to hate Anise (despite it seeming as though they were once friends). Anise dubs the girl "Gloomietta," and the feud between them simmers on in everything Arietta does.
Eventually, Ion is enlisted as an emissary of peace between the warring nations of Malkuth and Kimlasca. Performing her duties, Anise went along with him as he traveled with Colonel Jade Curtiss towards the Kimlascan capital. While stopped in Engeve, however, they meet with Luke and Tear, and the situation becomes all the more complex.
Anise and Jade end up arresting the 2, and enlisting them to help with delivering the letter calling for peace, but they are attacking by Oracle Knights seeking to kidnap Ion. In the ensuing battle on the Tartarus, Anise is thrown overboard. She keeps the letter with her, in order to protect it, and is able to meet up with the party again at the border crossing between Malkuth and Kimlasca.
Her task with the group is not solely as Ion's protector, however. She is also planted as a spy by Mohs. Mohs keeps her parents hostage, forcing Anise to often betray her friends by reporting their movements to him, allowing Oracle Knights to often intercept their plans.

Everything below here in her history won't have happened yet in the Anise I'd be using for Purgatorium, but I'll include it briefly anyway:
Her betrayal ultimately leads to the death of Ion, however, which begins a major change of heart for Anise. The death of Ion finally pushes her feud with Arietta to the breaking point, and brings them to a duel to the death. Having to face the resolve to kill Arietta finally changes Anise a bit for the better (although she still loves money!), and she gives up on her plans to marry rich. She decides instead to reform to Order of Lorelei in Ion's memory.
